Digital action at Higher Education Institutons as a catalyst for social change in the COVID-19 crisis in Cyprus.

On the 8th of Novermber 2021 CIP facilitated the webinar “Digital action at HIgher Education Institutions as a catalyst for social change in the COVID-19 crisis”. Dr Georgia Solomonidou introduced the audience to the HEIDI project and the main areas of Digital Actions encompassed by it, namely the Maker Movement, Hacktivism and Citizen Science. Guest speakers included, Dr Artemis Skarlatidou Senior Research Associate at UCL, Dr Maria Aristeidou Lectures at the Open University UK and Dr Kalypso Iordanou Associate Professor in Psychology, Deputy Head of the School of Sciences in UCLAN, Cyprus.

  • Dr Maria Aristeidou presented the talk “Citizen-led enquiries and actions: in (and by) the higher education sector”.
  • Dr Artemis Skarlatidou presented the topic of “Extreme citizen science: An overview”
  • Dr Kalypso Iordanou introduced the “COMPASS” and “SHERPA” Horizon2020 projects.
