France: COVID-19 Digital Actions

Based on the roundtable organised by the UP team with NEETs and other vulnerable citizens, the UP team hosted an in-person event, as part of a larger program on Inclusion for NEETs, in which we challenged them to identify and explore possibilities for digital action in their own communities.

From the start, the format was very relaxed and informal: it started with a brief conversation about their knowledge of digital tools, slowly morphing into a discussion on digital action, and finally specifying digital action related to Covid-19. The participants then engaged in brainstorming for activities that they could design themselves and protocols for their application.

The group was highly enthusiastic and described the event as “a bonding activity”, as it helped them identify “connections and common interests” and design actions that could be performed jointly. Given that the group was extremely heterogeneous in terms of background, we considered that a big success.
