Roundtable with unemployed women in Cyprus
The third in line of CIP’s Roundtable events with community members was held on the 16th of April 2022 in association with Emphasys’ digital skills training workshop, in Nicosia Cyprus. Women that are not currently in employment were invited in a roundtable discussion in an attempt to share the thoughts on Digital Actions and the role that digital skills training can have in their active involvement in actions providing solutions to both community and societal issues at large. The discussion was centered around the need for the provision of better opportunities for women that might not be able to be in employment due to various legal or personal barriers, such as newly arrived migrants or asylum seekers, so as to be more actively involved in their communities. This event highlighted the need for further digital skills training and access to digital connectivity for all, so that inclusive participation in Digital Actions is enabled. After the roundtable, the attendees were introduced one of the Digital Actions that HEIDI is focusing one, namely the Makersmovement and invited to partake in a short training session on 3D printing technology.
